  • Research, plan, design and develop thermal hydraulic and heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement and use of energy
  • Apply research to planning, design, development and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems
  • Apply advanced technical principles, theories and concepts
  • Contribute to development of new principles and concepts
  • Solve unusually complex technical problems with highly innovative solutions
  • Work under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives
  • Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results
  • Develop advanced technological ideas and guide them into final products
  • Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs
  • Advise management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 14 years of experience, or Master of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 12 years of experience, or PhD in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 9 years of experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Senior-level expertise regarding HVAC systems design and test
  • Subject Matter Expert in HVAC capable of significant Navy customer interaction and support to senior Engineering leadership
  • Detailed knowledge of LHA8, DDG and LPD Ship Spec Section 512 performance requirements
  • Experience with U.S. Navy HVAC systems, performance, and technical challenges is a plus
  • Experience submitting RCIA's to the Navy for resolution of contractual issues
  • Experience submitting hardware and software CDRLs to the Navy for approval
  • Experience with shipboard system balancing and testing preferred
  • Experience writing TPRSOWs and evaluating vendor equipment from purchase order award through ship delivery
  • Ability to provide technical guidance across disciplines responsible for interfacing systems
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers
