Job Title: FT Assistant / Associate Professor in Computer Science
Department: Computer Science Department
Reports to: Department Chair
The Department of Computer Science at DigiPen Institute of Technology, Redmond WA, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant / Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's teaching, professional development, creative work, and service missions. This position offers an opportunity to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and mentor students in a collaborative academic environment.
Exceptionally qualified applicants may be considered at the Associate Professor rank.
Start date: July 1st, 2026
This is a full-time, in-person teaching position.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer graphics, particularly focusing on real-time rendering (Vulkan, etc.), ray tracing, graphics engine development
  • Teach related courses in computer science that focus on computer science fundamentals, programming (C/C++), data structures and algorithms
  • Participate in departmental service, program assessment, and curriculum development
  • Serve on departmental and institutional committees as assigned
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in self-directed research activities
  • Contribute to the broader academic and professional communities through publications, conference participation, and professional engagement

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 4 years of industry experience in a role related to computer science
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, or equivalent)
  • Strong background in computer graphics, especially in real-time rendering
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience or demonstrated teaching potential
  • Experience as a contributor in video game industry, computer science or related fields
