Job description

Position Description:

This is an exciting position that spans both business development and technical execution concerns. The candidate will focus on:

  • the development of technologies
  • team building and industry relations in the domain of Uncrewed Aerial Systems and Air Launched Effects (ALEs) subsystems especially sensors
  • sensor processing
  • autonomy
  • datalinks

The candidate will use their domain expertise and industry relationships to establish inroads into the UAS and ALE domain leveraging AMS' suite of relevant technology. The candidate will also extend the existing technology into relevant adjacencies, customize it to mission relevant purposes, and develop new technology to complement our offerings for application to the UAS and ALE domains. Experience in the development of UAS and/or ALE Programs within a relevant PEO, or within AvMC as Government or Senior level contractor is a plus.

  • Position is full-time in the office

Basic Qualifications (required):

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Toolset
  • 10+ years of industry experience in UAS or ALE systems, subsystems or software required
  • 15+ years of total relevant career experience required

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • 15+ years of defense industry experience post degree is preferred
  • Work experience as either Government or industry within PEO AVN or AvMC is a plus
  • Experience with UAS or ALE sensors and sensor integration is a plus
  • Experience with the Uncrewed Vehicle Control (UVC) standard is a plus
  • Experience with UAS or ALE software systems integration is a plus
  • Experience with UAS open standards and interoperability profiles (IOPs) is a plus.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related science or engineering discipline.
  • Masters in above subjects is preferred
  • PhD in above subjects is a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience post-grad in a relevant field.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the year.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Security Requirements:

  • Citizenship: Candidate must be a US only citizen.
  • Clearance level: possess (and be able to maintain) a Final TOP SECRET/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final TOP SECRET Clearance.
