Job description

The Advanced Retinal Imaging and Laser Laboratory is seeking a motivated postdoctoral research fellow to perform eye research of retinal imaging technologies and treatments for eye disease.

Our laboratory is a dynamic, diverse, multidisciplinary group dedicated to improving the vision of patients suffering from eye diseases by applying biomedical engineering, biodesign, lasers, photonics, optics, AI, ultrasound, physics, nanoparticles, and biochemistry. We develop novel multimodal retinal imaging systems, laser therapies, and long-lasting sustained therapeutics. The team includes postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduates, medical students, residents, and fellows. As a postdoctoral research fellow, you will work as a team to perform research, design and build highโ€‘resolution optical imaging and laser systems, perform animal care and handling, present results at international meetings, write manuscripts for publication, and ensure appropriate documentation and regulatory compliance.

Salary

$63,480 - $77,076 per year

Responsibilities
  • Laboratory research experience, preferably in areas related to biomedical engineering, optical engineering, photonics, photoacoustics, ultrasound, nanoparticles, AI, imaging, or biochemistry.
  • Experience designing, setting up, and aligning highโ€‘resolution optical imaging systems.
  • Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret findings.
  • Lead and execute research projects from conception to publication, ensuring high scientific standards.
  • Experience in writing abstracts and presenting at conferences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and present research results at conferences.
  • Prepare and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
