Job description

How you will help

As a Lead Analyst, Real World Data (RWD) Insights you will serve as a strategic partner to clients and internal teams, leveraging deep expertise in healthcare data analytics to drive complex, high-impact real-world data (RWD) solutions. You will work at the intersection of healthcare data and client partnership, translating complex RWD into clear, actionable insights for life sciences and technology companies. Success in this role requires deep subject matter expertise in real world data, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine interest in building trusted client relationships. In this role, you will serve as the client's dedicated subject matter expert for RWD, acting as the primary point of contact for data inquiries, training, issue resolution, and ongoing analytical guidance. Additionally, you will mentor and collaborate with colleagues to enhance analytical methodologies, optimize data strategies, and contribute to the continued evolution of industry-leading RWD insights.

What you will do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for one or more of HealthVerity clients, providing expert post-sale support across their RWD use cases. 
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with stakeholders across data, analytics, and research functions
  • Respond to client data questions with accuracy and clarity, triaging issues and driving them to resolution
  • Proactively communicate insights, updates, and best practices to help clients maximize value from HealthVerity data assets
  • Translate complex needs and methodologies into clear, actionable guidance for clients' cross-functional stakeholders
  • Lead client trainings, standardize analytic guidance, and document use case support in the post-sale phase
  • Proactively anticipate the client's evolving data needs by monitoring their pipeline, research activity, and emerging use cases and routing expansion signals to Sales 
  • Develop and maintain training materials, documentation, and reference guides tailored to the client's specific use cases
  • Efficiently query multiple data types (medical and pharmacy claims, EMR, lab, chargemaster) with proficiency in SQL or Python to identify cohorts and support client inquiries
  • Work cross-functionally with sales and data delivery teams to drive operational processes and support best practices to deliver data licensing projects on time and with accuracy
  • Mentor junior team members, focusing on improvement initiatives, collaboration and innovation

  • Creatively and strategically positions HealthVerity to win against the competition by building trust and credibility as a subject matter expert (SME)
  • Client questions and data investigations are addressed accurately, efficiently, and with clear communication
  • Client teams are trained and empowered to effectively use HealthVerity data products
  • Data insights, emerging use cases, and client needs are surfaced ahead of explicit requests, demonstrating deep familiarity with the client's pipeline
  • Stakeholders consistently view the analyst as a trusted partner and subject matter expert, evidenced by unprompted outreach, inclusion in early-stage research discussions, and positive client feedback
  • Takes end-to-end ownership of data solutioning projects and drives them to completion
  • Dedicates 5-10% of working hours to team and individual improvement

 

Required skills and experience

  • Graduate degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Clinical Informatics, or related field
  • At least 4 years of direct client-facing experience in a healthcare analytics, life sciences, technology, or biotechnology context, with demonstrated ability to manage and grow client relationships
  • Healthcare data expert across various data types (e.g. open/closed claims, inpatient/ambulatory EMR, commercial labs, social determinants, etc.) and codified healthcare data standards (e.g. ICD, CPT, HCPCS, CVX, LOINC, NUCC, NPPES, etc.)
  • Proficient in SQL or Python, programming against large relational databases leveraging interoperably-linked, patient-level data at scale
  • Experience evaluating fit-for-purpose data and implementing research protocols
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts for technical and non-technical audiences alike
  • Experience applying RWD to specific healthcare and life sciences-related research questions and use cases, such as RWE/epidemiology, HEOR, R&D, commercial, public health
  • Direct experience working with teams at technology or life science organizations (e.g., HEOR, medical affairs, commercial) 
  • Highly organized, consultative, and proactive; able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with strong attention to detail

  • Experience working directly with pharmaceutical, biotech, or technology companies in a post-sale capacity
  • Experience planning and executing training and development programs against a long-term roadmap, preferably within the scope of a large enterprise life sciences contract

Base salary for the role is commensurate with experience and can range between $150,000 - 190,000 + annual bonus opportunity.
