Job description

Working in partnership with Product Management, Sales, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, IT, and business leadership, this position develops and maintains standard reporting, business models, forecasts, market analysis, product line analytics, and performance dashboards. The position serves as a liaison between business users and technical resources to define data requirements, improve data integrity, and ensure business information is accurate, actionable, and consistently communicated.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Product Management Analytics and Business Modeling

  • Develop, maintain, and improve product, market, revenue, bookings, billings, backlog, forecast, price erosion, margin, and gap analysis models for Product Management and business leadership.
  • Analyze data from multiple business systems to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and root causes impacting growth, profitability, customer behavior, product performance, and operational execution.
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc analyses that support product strategy, 5-year planning, pricing actions, market share review, customer segmentation, capacity planning, and business case development.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear insights, recommendations, and executive-ready summaries for Product Managers, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders

    2. Reporting Systems, Dashboards, and Data Integrity

  • Lead the development and maintenance of reporting structures, dashboards, and recurring reports that provide Product Management with consistent visibility to key business metrics.
  • Define and maintain data hierarchies for markets, customer types, product platforms, product lines, regions, and other reporting dimensions required for effective analysis.
  • Partner with IT, Finance, Sales Operations, and business teams to improve data quality, reporting automation, data warehouse inputs, and system outputs.
  • Establish reporting standards, data definitions, review cadence, and validation routines to ensure accuracy, consistency, and trust in business analytics.

    3. Market, Product, and Competitive Analysis

  • Support Product Managers with market research, TAM/SAM analysis, market share tracking, installed base analysis, competitor benchmarking, customer segmentation, and product lifecycle analytics.
  • Assist in evaluating business impact from competitive actions, acquisitions, market shifts, product transitions, and customer demand changes.
  • Develop predictive models and scenario planning tools to help Product Management anticipate demand, revenue, margin, and capacity implications.
  • Support preliminary M&A, new product, pricing, and strategic planning activities as directed by Product Management leadership.

    4. Cross-Functional Communication and Business Partnership

  • Serve as an analytics partner to Product Management and as a liaison between Product Management, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and business leadership.
  • Elicit, document, analyze, communicate, and validate business requirements for changes to business processes, reporting tools, dashboards, and information systems.
  • Participate in product management meetings, S&OP reviews, strategic planning sessions, and leadership reviews to provide data-driven insight and follow-up analysis.
  • Communicate results, risks, recommendations, and open issues in a timely, clear, and professional manner to support decision-making and accountability.

    5. Revenue, Margin, Forecast, and Planning Support

  • Support revenue assurance, forecast review, backlog analysis, margin monitoring, price adjustment analysis, and gap closure activities for Product Management and business leadership.
  • Analyze bookings, revenue, gross margin, product mix, customer demand, pipeline, lost orders, and operational constraints to explain variances from plan and identify corrective actions.
  • Provide analytical support for annual operating plans, long-range plans, 5YP planning, sales incentive analysis, and other commercial or financial review processes.
  • Complete special projects and value-added analysis as required to support Product Management priorities and business objectives.

    6. Artificial Intelligence and Digital Productivity

  • Ensure responsible use of AI in accordance with company policies related to data governance, cybersecurity, confidentiality, and intellectual property.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate AI-enabled automation and digital solutions into recurring reporting, dashboard development, business analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop effective AI prompts and workflows to improve reporting efficiency, documentation, and analytical processes while validating AI-generated outputs for accuracy and business relevance.
  • Utilize AI to conduct research, summarize complex information, generate reports and presentations, identify trends, support forecasting, and develop actionable business insights.
  • Leverage enterprise-approved Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to improve productivity, automate routine analytical tasks, accelerate data analysis, and enhance business decision-making.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in business analytics, product analytics, commercial analysis, finance analysis, operations analysis, or a related role in a technical manufacturing environment.

Skills

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and convert findings into practical recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and business intelligence tools such as Power BI; experience with ERP, CRM, data warehouse, Oracle, Salesforce, or similar business systems preferred.
  • Strong understanding of bookings, billings, revenue, backlog, forecast, margin, pricing, product line performance, market analysis, and planning processes.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) proficiency, including experience using enterprise-approved generative AI tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, or similar platforms) to improve productivity, conduct research, summarize information, generate reports, support data analysis, streamline business processes, and enhance decision-making.ย 
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical and financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities, deadlines, stakeholders, and changing business needs.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to challenge assumptions, debate issues professionally, and influence cross-functional teams through data and insight.
