Job description

As a Registered Pharmacist you will contribute to a positive patient experience by providing quality service in a busy inpatient pharmacy.
You will be responsible for:
  • Reviewing and interpreting physician orders for in-patients using patient profiles to ensure that overdoses have not been prescribed and that incompatibilities or toxic compounds will not result from combining ingredients. Contacts and confers with physician if there are any irregularities regarding prescriptions and documents clinical interventions.
  • Ensuring medications are dispensed accurately and according to established procedure and state/federal guidelines.
  • Ensuring drug orders and drug information are entered accurately into the computer. Drug allergies and duplicate therapy are recorded, monitored, and appropriate action taken to promote safe, rational therapy.
  • Maintaining inventory and records on controlled substances and other forms of drugs required by law and maintains security of narcotics and controlled substances
  • Inspecting pharmacy inventory prior to dispensation to ensure drugs which are outdated and/or have lost potency are removed from stock. Notifies pharmacy inventory control clerk of stock needs.
  • Operating and supervising the pharmacy during times in which the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Manager is not present. Supervise technical staff with appropriate follow up to assure completion of assignments.
  • Completing floor visit assignments before end of month.

What you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy (RPh or Pharm D)
  • Experience is not required; however, hospital experience is highly desired.
  • Current Georgia license and registrations required. Internship completed.
