Job description

Pharmacist Retail

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to manage the pharmacy department of our hospital located in the beautiful Central California Mountains. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services to our patients and medical staff.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department, including staff management, budgeting, inventory control, and compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of pharmacy technicians and other support staff to ensure efficient and accurate medication dispensing and distribution.
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for appropriateness, safety, and efficacy, including dosing, interactions, and adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement drug therapy protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide medication counseling and education to patients, their families, and healthcare providers as needed.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient medication profiles and records, including drug allergies and medical history.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workspace and comply with all safety and security protocols.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid and active California state pharmacist license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, drug therapy protocols, and medication safety practices.
