Pharmaceuticals are substances or medications that are used to diagnose, treat, prevent, or manage diseases and medical conditions in humans or animals. They are developed through scientific research and must undergo rigorous testing for safety and effectiveness before being approved for use. Pharmaceuticals include prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vaccines, and biologic products. The pharmaceutical industry is highly regulated to ensure the quality and safety of these products for public health.
