Job Description

The Sr. Training Manager is responsible for effectively developing, delivering, executing, and managing training needs for pharmaceutical clients. This role requires a deep understanding of disease states, market landscape, and product-specific materials, which must be communicated clearly to learners. The Sr. Training Manager will support the evaluation, creation, and implementation of training initiatives, including content design and development throughout the project lifecycle. They are also responsible for facilitating engaging live or virtual training sessions, demonstrating exceptional platform skills and have strong selling skills acumen in life-sciences.

Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams.  These results are achieved by:

  • Support the development of all required training materials and/or home study materials necessary for initial and follow-up training classes. This includes supporting the management of materials through the legal, regulatory and medical review process
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for implementation of dynamic learning materials (slide presentations, workshops, reference guides, job aids, modules)
  • Support the Directors of Training and Project Managers through detailed project management practices and standards
  • Collaborate on support services including agenda management, Portal/Platform LMS setup and production services, as required
  • Continue to learn new disease state materials, branded and unbranded materials and be prepared to implement training of these materials in a timely fashion
  • Provide effective facilitation services (live, virtual) to ensure proper delivery and execution of training (i.e product knowledge, disease state, or selling skills)
  • Provide train-the trainer services, new hire training, and sustainment curriculum trainings, as requested
  • Supports sales management teams by providing training materials, workshops and/or facilitation support at National, Sales, and POA meetings
  • Management of the Training Project Plan including task management, escalation of issues, risk identification, and interdependencies through project documentation including: (Issue Tracker, Milestone Tracker, Action Item Tracker)
  • On-board, develop, and coach field-based trainers and emerging sales rep leaders based on competencies and skill sets needed for project, to include virtual and live field rides, as required
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical training environment is mandatory
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical sales environment with exposure to training is preferred
  • Experience in supporting all aspects of a detailed, multi-component program from concept to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Product launch experience or major new indication launch experience preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Superb track record in developing and executing successful training programs
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools
  • Familiar with traditional and modern training processes and adult learning principles
  • Working knowledge of sound instructional design
  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills
  • Strategic and creative mindset
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Expertise in training and facilitation
  • Travel 50% based on clients training needs
  • Education Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Science
  • Experience and/or Training 3+ years of experience as a successful sales representative selling pharmaceuticals or medical equipment. 5+ years of experience in a national sales training department with experience in curriculum development and delivery is required.

  • Experience and/or Training 5+ years of progressively responsible experience and advancement within healthcare, pharmaceutical or biotech industry in sales, sales training

  • Technology/Equipment Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Suite, Veeva or similar software, Learning Management Systems
