About Position: Understands most pharmacy computer functions, understands drug ordering process, able to print most computer reports, able to communicate with medical providers, understands most pharmacy operations, able to assist Pharmacy Manager with operations. Able to begin daily pharmacy operations without pharmacist, can perform most pharmacy computer functions, can order medications from wholesaler independently, complete most pharmacy daily and monthly reports, complete weekly Pfizer report, can perform routine inventory functions, understands and practices good patient relationships, works well with center staff, provides leadership for other technicians, can handle most telephone queries, understands IVR operation, understands Medicare Part D.
  • Work Location: Moncure CHC - 7228 Moncure-Pittsboro Road, Moncure, NC 27559
  • Schedule: (Varies) Monday: 8:30am - 5:00pm,Tuesday: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Wednesday: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Thursday: 8:30am - 8:00pm, Friday: 8:30 am - 1:00pm
  • Travel: To All PHS Sites As/If Needed
Duties/ Responsibilities -
  • Utilizes pharmacy knowledge to insure appropriate decisions in conjunction with pharmacist.
  • Assesses individual patient questions and refers to pharmacist appropriately.
  • Able to provide appropriate services to all age groups.
  • Able to discuss areas of medication usage with pharmacist.
  • Demonstrates ability to discuss third party payer information with patients.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide drug information to medical staff by utilizing appropriate references.
  • Understands PHS policy and procedures regarding protocols utilized by PHS.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of pharmacy law.
  • Understands how to provide patient services in a timely manner and with compassion.
  • Works well with all of PHS.
  • Works with pharmacy program in a positive, professional manner.
  • Understands revenue and expense statistics for pharmacy.
  • Understands role of community health centers.
  • Works to increase revenue for PHS pharmacies and to decrease expenses.
  • Inspires confidence from staff and patients.
  • Works in a manner that produces accessibility to patients.
  • Works cooperatively with Pharmacy Manager.
  • Constantly works to improve pharmacy services.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule.
  • Provides leadership for PHS.
  • Always aware of patient needs.
  • Demonstrates appropriate working relationship with entire center staff.
  • Performs all other duties , as assigned.

Qualifications -
Education: Minimum high school graduate or equivalency
Required: Must be a certified Pharmacy Technician.
Preferred: English/Spanish Bilingual skills preferred, One to three years of experience in pharmacy and customer service/healthcare preferred.
Current/valid License: Passed National Certification Exam- preferred, registered with N.C. Board of Pharmacy
Immunizations: Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.
Pay Rang: $17.85 - $23.99(commensurate with years of experience)
