PetVet Care Centers' Stoney Pointe Pet Hospital is currently seeking a Veterinary Receptionist (Care Coordinator) to join their team!

Position Overview

Join our team as a Care Coordinator who contributes to the success of a high-performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. Performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital. Within the veterinary field, this position aligns closely with roles often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist.

Stoney Pointe Pet Hospital has built a strong reputation across the greater Rochester, NY area for quality, professional veterinary care delivered in a relaxed, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming environment, guided by a mission to provide a lifetime of outstanding care so every pet can enjoy the best life possible by their owner's side. Open Monday through Saturday, the team offers a comprehensive range of services spanning wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, internal medicine, cold laser therapy, surgery, diagnostics, boarding, and same-day urgent care appointments, all supported by an in-house pharmacy and lab for fast, accurate results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
  • Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
  • Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
  • Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
  • Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
  • Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.

Qualifications (Required)

  • High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures and ability to organize files and records
  • Excellent customer service skills, providing courteous and prompt assistance
  • Accurate cash handling and cashiering abilities
  • Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work at a keyboard or workstation for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting animals up to 50 pounds
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Customer service experience or experience in the veterinary field preferred.

Schedule: Day shifts throughout week, some flexibility. Rotating Saturdays from 8am-1pm are required.
