Job description

Offit Kurman, a growing Am Law 200 full-service law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to support its Immigration practice in our Bethesda, MD office. This role is ideal for a highly organized legal professional with strong employment-based immigration experience who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys within the Immigration practice.
  • Prepare, edit, proofread, and finalize immigration petitions, legal documents, and client correspondence.
  • Assist attorneys and clients with gathering information and documentation for employment-based immigration matters.
  • Support the preparation and filing of employment-based petitions, PERM labor certifications, visa applications, and adjustment of status applications.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, foreign nationals, government agencies, and other stakeholders via phone, email, and in person.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate client appointments and conference calls.
  • Open, maintain, and close client files while ensuring accurate document organization and recordkeeping.
  • File legal documents with the appropriate government agencies and courts, as needed.
  • Coordinate attorney travel arrangements and process expense reports, reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems while ensuring deadlines and case milestones are met.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of legal administrative experience, including prior experience supporting an immigration law practice.
  • Experience with employment-based immigration matters, including PERM labor certifications, employment-based visa petitions, adjustment of status applications, and related filings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong client service mindset.
  • Ability to review, verify, and manage legal documents with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience with immigration case management systems such as Docketwise, LawLogix EDGE, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), document management systems, attorney time entry software, and online research tools.
