Job description

Job Summary
Lead and manage a team of heavy-duty diesel technicians in a fast-paced Peterbilt dealership service department. Ensure high-quality repairs, maximize shop productivity, maintain safety compliance, and deliver exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Technicians: Assign daily repair orders based on technician skill levels and certification tiers.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide expert troubleshooting support for Peterbilt chassis, PACCAR MX engines, and Cummins powertrains.
  • Quality Control: Inspect completed trucks to guarantee repairs meet Peterbilt factory specifications and safety standards.
  • Workflow Optimization: Manage shop throughput to meet Promised Times and minimize customer driver downtime.
  • Warranty Compliance: Ensure documentation and failed parts meet PACCAR warranty submission guidelines.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Enforce OSHA regulations, shop safety protocols, and correct hazardous waste disposal.
  • Performance Mentoring: Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for apprentice technicians.
  • Customer Interface: Communicate repair status updates and technical explanations directly to fleet managers. [1, 2]

Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of heavy-duty truck repair experience; 2+ years in a supervisory role.
