Job description

We're Looking For A(n): Buyer/Planner

Location: Richfield, WI

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Responsible for purchasing raw food ingredients, packaging and others plant supplies to support the facility requirements
  • Manage vendor relationships including researching potential new vendors, negotiations, verifying, identifying and resolving discrepancies with vendors, and evaluating vendors based on on-time deliveries, product quality, etc.
  • Analyzes demand and proactively manages inventory levels to ensure a timely and cost effective delivery of goods
  • Own the planning and day-to-day purchasing for a large pet food manufacturer, including raw materials, plant supplies, etc.
  • Schedule pickups, place purchase orders, monitor deliveries, as well as maintain and update corresponding schedules as needed
  • Work with corporate departments on planning based on short-term and long-term product demand

Preferred Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don't tick ALL of these boxes.):

  • MBA in business administration or supply chain management
  • 1-2 years of experience purchasing raw ingredients (meat and poultry)
  • 1-3 years of experience in planning, inventory management or scheduling in a manufacturing setting
