Job description

Position Overview: The Pest Exterminator and Fleet Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and effective treatment of pests in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a balance of pest management expertise and basic maintenance duties for company vehicles. The ideal candidate will ensure both the successful extermination of pests and the proper upkeep of company trucks, ensuring they are in optimal working condition for daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Pest Extermination Duties:

  1. Pest Control Services:

    • Inspect and assess pest infestation levels in client locations, identifying the type of pests and severity of infestation.
    • Develop and implement pest control treatment plans using appropriate methods and chemicals, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
    • Apply pesticides, traps, and other pest control methods following safety guidelines and regulatory standards.
    • Communicate with clients about the nature of their pest problem, treatment plan, and any precautions they need to take.
  2. Health & Safety Compliance:

    • Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing pest control duties.
    • Ensure compliance with local and federal pest control regulations, including proper certification and licensing.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in client areas to avoid contamination or accidents.
  3. Client Interaction:

    • Provide excellent customer service by clearly explaining treatments, answering questions, and offering preventive measures.
    • Build long-term relationships with clients, offering advice on future treatments or ongoing maintenance.

Truck and Fleet Maintenance Duties:

  1. Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance:

    • Perform daily and weekly inspections of company trucks, including checking oil levels, tire pressure, brake function, and other essential systems.
    • Schedule and perform minor repairs such as replacing wiper blades, bulbs, filters, and fluids.
    • Monitor and schedule routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake replacements.
    • Keep trucks clean and organized, ensuring all tools and pest control materials are properly stored.
  2. Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
    • Report any significant vehicle issues to the fleet manager or supervisor for further action.
    • Track vehicle mileage and plan maintenance schedules to avoid disruptions to daily operations.
  3. Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure all trucks are compliant with local transportation regulations, including keeping necessary documentation (registration, insurance, etc.).
    • Conduct regular safety checks on trucks and ensure drivers are trained in safe driving practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid pest control certification (as required by local or state regulations).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and experience in vehicle maintenance preferred.
