Traveling Service Technician
Plunkett's - New Places, New Skills, No Boring Days
At Plunkett's, our technicians do more than treat pests. They solve problems and help customers feel safe at home. As a Traveling Service Technician, you'll travel between branches, pick up new skills fast, and see more of the business than most people do in their first year. Think of it as your fast track into a great pest control career. The travel area for this role is within the state of Indiana.
Pay is $23.00 - $25.00 Per Hour
What Makes This Role Different
New scenery, all the time. No two weeks look the same. You'll work at different branches, meet new teams, and tackle different pest problems along the way.
Built for growth
Every stop teaches you something new. You'll rack up the training, licenses, and real-world experience that set you up for your own route down the road.
Travel, on us
Overnight trips happen about 30% of the time, and Plunkett's covers your hotel and travel costs. Pack a bag, we've got the rest.
Never flying solo
You'll be out in the field on your own, but you're always backed by a team. A Regional Manager has your back while you're learning, and once you land your own route, a Branch Supervisor steps in to keep the momentum going.
What You'll Do
  • Jump into open routes across branches and keep customers happy with great service
  • Back up other technicians when things get busy or someone's out
  • Travel between branches, including overnight trips about 30% of the time (hotel and travel covered) and daily drives of roughly 100-200 miles
  • Learn to identify pests and treat homes and businesses the right way
  • Work toward your state pest control license and certifications
  • Log your work using a company tablet
  • Bring your A-game to every customer interaction
  • Keep your company truck and gear in top shape

Why You'll Love It Here
  • Full benefits, including $0 deductible health insurance, PTO, life insurance, and 401(k)
  • Hotel and travel costs covered on every overnight trip
  • Hands-on training and help getting licensed
  • A real path to your own dedicated route
  • Room to grow with a stable, family-owned company
  • A team culture that actually has your back
  • Tablet, company truck, and gas card provided, just show up and go

What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Zero pest control experience needed, we'll teach you everything
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record
  • A yes to travel, including overnight trips about 30% of the time
  • A love for variety and new places
  • Self-starter energy, you can run your day without someone hovering
  • Comfort using a tablet or phone app to get things done

Physical requirements: Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Comfortable walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing ladders to reach attics and crawlspaces. Ready to work outside in all kinds of weather and around dust, chemicals, and bugs. Able to sit and drive for long stretches while on the road.
At Plunkett's, everything we do is built on our Core Four:
