Quality Control Supervisor – Yakult USA (Georgia)

Yakult USA, the world’s leading probiotic drink manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to join their new factory in White, Georgia (30184). This is an exciting opportunity for a quality-driven leader to play a key role in ensuring product excellence, food safety, and regulatory compliance.

Position Summary

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and quality control operations, leading a team of 30+ employees, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $75,000/year (Exempt)
  • Schedule: 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, includes 1-hour unpaid lunch)
    Monday – Saturday (flexibility required)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 4-year college degree in microbiology or a related course of study highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience. Must have strong and effective leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage a staff of 30+ employees.
  • 10+ years of experience in a Food or Beverage manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of quality control experience in a factory or laboratory setting.
  • Driver’s license is required for coordination with outside lab.
  • Certification of any Food safety (HACCP/SQF) training course, Internal Auditor training course
  • Experience in training, handling people, and resolving conflicts.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Have the ability to work independently with little supervision and be part of a team as well.
  • Be available to work any hours assigned, 5 days or more per week, Monday- Saturday, including early mornings and late nights.
  • Proficient and working knowledge of MS Office and other appropriate software
  • Able to lift up to 60 pounds.

Key Responsibilities

Quality & Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily quality control operations and ensure product safety, consistency, and compliance
  • Supervise and support a team of 30+ QC staff
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, SQF, FDA, FSMA, and OSHA regulations
  • Maintain high sanitation standards and ensure audit readiness at all times
  • Collaborate closely with Production and Factory Managers and act as a liaison between management and staff

Laboratory & Testing Oversight

  • Manage lab analysis for physical, chemical, and microbiological testing
  • Perform microbiological culturing, environmental sampling, and testing
  • Investigate out-of-specification results and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain and manage QC equipment, supplies, and inventory

Documentation & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain SOPs, QC templates, and accurate documentation
  • Review and verify daily and monthly QC reports
  • Ensure proper documentation practices and record-keeping compliance
  • Prepare for and support third-party audits and regulatory inspections
  • Escort auditors and assist during inspections

Team Leadership & Administration

  • Schedule shifts and manage payroll/timekeeping for QC staff
  • Train, coach, and evaluate employees; provide performance feedback and development support
  • Enforce company policies and administer disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Investigate workplace incidents and report findings to management and HR
  • Create and maintain a safe, positive, and productive work environment

Inventory & Supplier Quality

  • Conduct inventory control for QC supplies and materials
  • Audit suppliers of raw and sub-materials
  • Coordinate with external laboratories and vendors

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Act as SQF Practitioner or Back-up / PCQI
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and enforce GMPs and food safety policies
  • Maintain food safety documentation in compliance with FSMA and SQF standards
  • Conduct records review to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Implement document control and Good Documentation Practices
  • Report risks such as contamination, pest activity, or food fraud concerns
  • Develop and deliver food safety training; evaluate training effectiveness
  • Participate in food safety meetings, plan updates, and verification processes
  • Conduct mock recalls and follow up on corrective actions
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with food safety standards
