Job description

Senior Copywriter (3 - 6 Month Contract) Hybrid in Boston, MA Who are we? 143 Studios is an award‐winning media production company headquartered in Boston, MA focused on creating, producing, and publishing first‐of‐its‐kind audio and visual content that inspires and empowers millions of people globally. We are the team behind the Golden Globe‐nominated show The Mel Robbins Podcast, which is #1 most‐followed show on Apple Podcasts. We're also the same team behind The Let Them Theory, a cultural phenomenon with almost 10 million copies sold, six #1 Audible Originals, and professional development education for many of the largest companies in the world. Every day, our work reaches more than 40 million online followers around the world. About the Role The Senior Copywriter supports the editorial voice and written expression of The Mel Robbins Podcast and Mel Robbins brand across newsletters, podcast copy, social media content and captions, website pages, campaigns, and other brand materials. This role blends exceptional writing craft with sharp editorial judgment and a deep understanding of brand voice. The right person can take a podcast episode, transcript, video clip, rough idea, or creative brief and turn it into clear, compelling copy that connects with our global audience and makes a difference for millions of people every single day. Responsibilities Write and refine copy for podcast descriptions, social media copy, website pages, newsletters, decks, campaigns, articles, and other brand materials. Write platform‐native captions and social copy for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, and other channels as needed (including copy for social media carousels, Instagram stories, etc). Translate podcast dialogue from guest and Mel into concise, conversion‐focused social captions designed to drive engagement and podcast downloads. Take content and research from podcast episodes and refine into clear, actionable takeaways to share on social media, email, and web. Craft compelling headlines, hooks, subject lines, CTAs, and messaging that drive engagement and conversion. Develop and refine podcast episode titles, descriptions, scripting, companion blog posts, and promotional copy. Support the team in shaping, refining, and extending the Mel Robbins brand voice across written materials. Collaborate with editorial, podcast, marketing, social, video, and leadership teams to align copy with creative goals and audience needs. Edit and proofread copy for clarity, consistency, impact, and brand standards. Serve as a thoughtful creative partner to the editorial and brand team, bringing strong ideas, clear judgment, and a collaborative approach to feedback and revisions. Qualifications 8+ years of professional copywriting experience, ideally with experience in media, publishing, journalism, education, wellness, lifestyle, or entertainment. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong creative point of view. Strong portfolio demonstrating range across editorial copy, email/newsletter, social media, website or landing page copy, and ideally experience writing for podcasts, broadcast media, or interview‐driven content. Excellent headline, hook, and short‐form writing instincts. Proven ability to write in another person's voice, ideally for a high‐visibility brand, public figure, or thought leader. Strong editorial judgment with the ability to sharpen, simplify, and elevate copy quickly. Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to write about the topics covered in The Mel Robbins Podcast with nuance. Comfort working with transcripts, scripts, outlines, creative briefs, research, and raw ideas. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Preferred Listener of The Mel Robbins Podcast and interest in personal development, mindset, or wellness content. Experience collaborating with founders, authors, hosts, experts, creators, or public‐facing talent. Experience writing direct‐response or conversion‐oriented copy. Experience using audience insights or performance data to improve hooks, headlines, subject lines, or messaging. Duration: 3‐6 months to start, with the possibility of extension. Type: Contract, full‐time or part‐time depending on project needs. Location: Boston, MA (hybrid flexibility). To Apply Send us your resume, portfolio and a brief cover letter sharing why you are the perfect fit for this role . Please include 2–3 writing samples that best show your work as a copywriter, especially examples where you captured a specific brand voice, wrote strong headlines or hooks, or adapted copy across multiple channels.
