Job description

Personal Assistant Staff assist clients in their homes with activities of daily living and incidental activities of daily living. These duties include preparing meals (may include special diet), mobility/transfer, bathing, grooming/dressing, reminding clients about medications, cleaning living area, laundry, shopping/errands, making client's bed and/or changing linens, encourage and educate clients, assisting clients in communication needs with doctors, transportation, etc. Personal Assistant Staff have to maintain records of services performed for each client.

Personal Assistant Staff may also assist clients in and out of bed, using a wheelchair, up and down stairs, and around their house using proper lifting techniques and support equipment for weight bearing clients. Personal Assistant Staff will also be responsible for universal precautions and preventing the spread of disease. Personal Assistant Staff must also be able to acknowledge an emergency situation and know when to contact 911.
