Role Overview:

Applies mechanical systems design knowledge, skill, and ability to create construction drawings for the project owner and provides continuous professional support throughout the entire construction process. Serves as the primary liaison responsible for coordination and communication activities between the design team and the client/customer and provides project management oversight and professional support throughout the entire construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides complete management of project timelines and related design activity communication between the design team and the client/customer, accurately & timely
  • Accurately and timely produces mechanical systems design elements consistent with project specifications
  • Accurately and timely produces design elements in accordance with the project hours, scope & parameters
  • Provides research design options consistent with project requirements
  • Produces accurate and complete load calculations within project parameters
  • Selects appropriate equipment for project type
  • Creates construction HVAC documents for permitting that are accurate and complete.
  • Accurately and consistently execute initial QA/QC process
  • Provide project coordination with in house and outside sources
  • Actively participates in post design consultation activities through construction completion
  • Follows established work rules, policies and procedures
  • Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles or responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in engineering required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Knowledge of various HVAC/plumbing/fire protection systems, equipment and concepts
  • Knowledge of engineering drafting standards
  • Knowledge and utilization of company & design standards
  • Expert knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Demonstrable understanding of construction process and interpretation of construction drawings
  • Knowledge of AutoCad
  • Knowledge of Revit
  • EIT preferred

Estimated Starting Salary: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 USD
