Job description

Description:

For more than 60 years, Tyndale has helped readers discover the life-giving truths of God's Word. Today we're one of the largest independently owned Christian publishers in the world. Though our business has grown, our mission remains the same: to open God's Word to as many as possible in language they can relate to and understand.

Every time a church prints a Scripture card, a ministry quotes a passage in a study guide, or a partner publisher builds a product around the New Living Translation, someone has to say yes — and say it well. In this role, you are that person. You'll manage Bible permissions and licensing across North America, turning everyday requests into partnerships that put Scripture in front of more readers while supporting the revenue that funds Tyndale's ministry and giving.

What You'll Do

  • Turn requests into outcomes. Screen and respond to incoming permissions and licensing inquiries, walk customers through complicated cases, issue clear decisions, and recognize when a routine permission request is really a larger licensing opportunity.
  • Grow the partnerships that expand Scripture's reach. Research potential partners and licensed products, initiate conversations, guide partners through application and approval, and find ways to expand existing relationships — making well-informed recommendations to publishing leadership along the way.
  • Build agreements that hold up. Create license agreements from approved templates, recommend terms within established guidelines, and keep contracts accurate and correctly applied as markets and law change.
  • Protect the value of every agreement. Follow up on compliance, manage renewals and royalty reporting and collection, maintain the archive of licensed products, and keep internal systems and data reporting accurate.
  • Manage incoming licenses. Own communication and administration of incoming licenses and buy-ins across Bibles, Spanish, and children's publishing.
  • Keep partners and teams aligned. Coordinate with internal teams on assets, workflow, and reporting, and keep brand guidelines current and clearly communicated to licensing partners and permissions customers.
  • Support publishing leadership. Provide research, communication, and administrative support on legal matters, publishing contracts, and trademark work, along with special projects as they arise.

Skills & Qualifications Needed

  • Undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience in administration, sales, communications, business, law, or a related field
  • Experience with licensing, permissions, rights, or contract administration is a strong plus, as is experience in the Christian publishing industry
  • Knowledge of the Bible and a personal interest in Scripture, with an understanding of orthodox evangelical theology and evangelical Christian culture
  • Familiarity with the market for Bibles and related products, and with the organizations doing business and ministry in the North American Christian market
  • Clear, concise, and winsome written and verbal communication with partners, customers, and colleagues across departments
  • A relational, customer-service orientation — emotionally intelligent, responsive, and able to identify and communicate win-win opportunities
  • Creative, resourceful, strategic thinking: able to generate ideas, spot opportunities, and evaluate them against big-picture goals
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project management skill, with the ability to juggle multiple complex projects and deadlines and produce precise contracts
  • Self-motivated problem solver who anticipates obstacles, troubleshoots, and stays calm under pressure
  • Collaborative and servant-hearted, comfortable working within a process-oriented organization
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and Zoom, and the ability to learn internal data systems quickly
  • Some familiarity with Spanish is a plus
  • Personal alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God's Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith

We want to hear more about you and why you are interested in Tyndale and this role, so we highly recommend including a cover letter.
