Job description

Role description:
The IS Operator Journeyman operates and manages the Individual Section (IS) machine as well as other related forming equipment to produce high-quality glass containers.
Compensation and Schedule:
The starting pay rate for this role is $34.56 per hour. Any future increases are dictated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Rotating 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts
Responsibilities:
  • Operate the IS machine and related forming equipment
  • Assist with job and mold changes on machines
  • Observe and make adjustments to forming hot end equipment
  • Weigh, measure, and visually check hot end coating application for defects
  • Correct defects reported by other departments
  • Verify required machine functions and timing of machines
  • Lubricate and swab mold and delivery equipment

Minimum skills / qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a production manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours
  • Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds

Preferred skills / qualifications:
  • Technical school degree or equivalent
  • Journeyman Card or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with IS Machines
  • Stable work history with no gaps in employment
