A Snapshot of Your Day
This role offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic engineering environment focused on industrial gas turbine development. You will collaborate with global and cross-functional teams on component design, manufacturability improvements, technical problem-solving, and technology advancement, while continuously expanding your expertise through practical experience and training.
In this position, you will play a key role in improving the design and manufacturing of complex turbine components. You will drive the development and validation of advanced simulation methods, including process modeling and defect prediction, to integrate manufacturability early in the design cycle. Your work will help reduce defects, lead times, and costs while increasing product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Contribution to the design and optimization of turbine hot gas path components with a focus on performance, durability, and manufacturability
  • Development and application of high-fidelity casting simulation methodologies for robust and high-yield foundry processes
  • Integration of manufacturability considerations into early-stage turbine component design through upstream simulation approaches
  • Development of innovative cooling technologies balancing thermal performance, manufacturability, and casting feasibility
  • Cross-functional collaboration with design, materials, and manufacturing teams to establish simulation-driven Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) workflows
  • Identification and resolution of complex casting challenges through advanced modeling, data-driven analysis, validation activities, and continuous enhancement of simulation methodologies.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years' experience w/ FEA, CFD, and CAD tools, including advanced 3D simulation such as:
    • ProCAST
    • STAR-CCM+
    • Simcenter 3D
    • ANSYS
  • Industrial experience in simulation and manufacturing processes, supporting areas like:
    • Turbomachinery
    • Turbine hot gas path components
    • Thermal design
    • Fluid systems
    • Related engineering applications
  • An understanding of multi-physics simulation principles and Design for Manufacturability (DfM)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, leveraging strong initiative, self-motivation, self-management, and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
