As a Machine Operator III with Lamplight a Division of the W.C. Bradley. Co you will work independently supporting maintenance needs of semi-complex, automated manufacturing equipment. Maintains a high level of knowledge of the manufacturing processes and equipment to provide support in all areas. Assist on the design and development of new equipment or processes. Lead and support facility needs and projects across multiple locations. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Independently troubleshoot semi-complex, automated equipment with a high degree of quality in a sustained quick and reliable problem solving/correction process.
  • Lead and support and perform planned maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, throughout production.
  • Continue to learn complex equipment by studying equipment manuals, conducting internet research, and utilizing internal knowledge to keep abreast of new technologies, processes, and/or equipment. Work within Maintenance Technician group to assist in increasing technical knowledge the technical capabilities of less experienced technicians.
  • Work with engineers and others during the building and installation of new equipment to ensure attention to the maintenance of new equipment, prepare new machine documentation from equipment suppliers based on the company's operating standards.
  • Responsible for knowing and following all safety and compliance requirements by maintaining cleanliness within work area and maintaining good documentation practices on all required paperwork.
  • Perform equipment failure analysis (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
  • Technically identify and support process optimization through equipment design improvements, changes to operating procedures and maintenance activities. Implement permanent corrective actions to eliminate recurring problems.
  • Lead the work of one or more assigned team members. Provide directions to members of the team, performing those responsibilities in accordance with established policies and applicable laws. May provide input on hiring, assigning work and appraising performance.
  • Support equipment validation activities in house or at vendor locations by following the company's standard operating and compliance procedures.
  • Perform written documentation and regulatory recordkeeping responsibilities as defined in the standard operating procedures for equipment maintenance.
  • Enter data and activity for tracking purposes.
  • May be required to perform other maintenance duties and/or lead special projects as required or assigned, reasonably within the scope of the duties listed above. May be required to work on other shifts and/or willing to be "on call" as needed.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.

Minimum Education: High School diploma or completion of GED equivalent

Minimum Work Experience: Five (5) years of practical experience performing maintenance on semi-complex manufacturing equipment

License(s) / Certification(s): None

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers, using the PLC as a troubleshooting tool
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
  • Time management skills and the ability to effectively work within unplanned time constraints.
  • Team leadership skills and the ability to effectively influence others to work towards common objectives.
  • Strong troubleshooting and project management skills
  • Computer skills and the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook, and Excel

  • Ability to continuously broaden knowledge and scope in maintenance techniques and new equipment technologies.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical drawings, flowcharts, and/or other drawings of a technical nature.
  • Ability to modify or develop control logic to enhance equipment performance.
  • Ability to train less experienced team members.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with employees, team members, engineers, manufacturing management, etc., by using good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
