Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Registered Nurses to join us in Perioperative Services on a permanent full time or part time basis. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield - opening early 2026. As Mater's newest public hospital, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it's set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.  

Registered Nurse Opportunities available in:

  • Anaesthetics 
  • PACU/Recovery
  • Scrub/Scouts 

Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you'll be doing 

  • Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate
  • Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during perioperative journey
  • Provided effective management of post anaesthesia and postoperative complications
  • Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
  • Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

  • Recent Clinical experience in an acute health care setting
  • Anaesthetics experience or PACU/Recovery experience or Scrub/Scout experience
  • Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care within the multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • A commitment to learning and reflective practice
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
  • A desire to share your experiences and participate in the future development of the unit
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to participate in on-call rostering
