Job description

This vacancy is for a GS-1712-12, Training Instructor located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, AVIATION TRAINING CENTER MOBILE PERSONNEL SUPPORT DEPARTMENT in MOBILE, Alabama.Qualifications:

To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

  • Planning, developing, and conducting instruction and evaluation in military flight training simulators, cockpit procedure trainers, and desktop trainers, including configuring and controlling the simulator to emulate a variety of mission scenarios.
  • Developing, updating, and validating training materials, including instructional and development criteria, for military aviators in advanced operational procedures.
  • Planning, organizing, and conducting academic training on advanced technical systems and operational employment of aircraft in both virtual and classroom settings.
  • Utilizing avionics and aircraft architecture systems for existing and emerging aviation platforms, including assisting with equipment integration and developing troubleshooting test plans.

Student Loan -
Selectee(s) for this position who are newly appointed to a permanent or term position may be eligible for student loan repayment up to $10,000 (pre-tax) for one calendar year.
