Job Title: Permanent Building Substitute Teacher
Position Type: Full-Time (5 days-40 hours/week), 2026-27 School Year

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and maintain classroom routines in accordance with teacher-provided lesson plans.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a respectful and safe learning environment.
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during school-related events.
- Follow all school and district policies, including safety and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with staff to support student learning and building-wide initiatives.
- Fill in for various grade levels and content areas with minimal advance notice.
Qualifications:
- Must be an approved substitute teacher registered through the SubCentral assignment system at subcentral.gwaea.org
- Must hold a valid substitute authorization or teaching license through the State of Iowa to register with SubCentral.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Work Days: Monday Friday, full school days.
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Eligible for district health insurance, including a district contribution of $259/month.
- This is a one-year non-renewal position. Candidates must reapply every year.
