The highest paid oil rig jobs typically include Offshore Installation Managers (OIMs) and drilling engineers, with salaries often exceeding $150,000 annually. How much does an AB tankerman make?

An AB (Able Seaman) tankerman typically earns between $40,000 and $70,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and the type of vessel. Salary can increase with additional qualifications such as tankerman endorsements and specialized training, and work often involves shift schedules on tankers or other maritime vessels.

Is it hard to become a tankerman?

Becoming a permanent Ab Tankerman requires completing specific training, gaining relevant experience, and obtaining necessary certifications such as the Tankerman-PIC license. The process involves safety training, understanding of hazardous materials, and often working in maritime or industrial environments, which can be physically demanding and require attention to safety protocols.
