Aide Patient Care Assistant (PCA) - Perioperative | CNA Preferred

Solo, MO $32,099 - $41,099 a year

Full Time

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and essential patient care in a perioperative setting. As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA), you will work under the guidance of licensed nurses to deliver direct support to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their care journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes to licensed nursing staff.
  • Perform basic patient care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility activities.
  • Collaborate closely with nursing personnel to meet patient needs promptly and enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Accurately document all patient care activities to support clinical decision-making and quality outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate relevant patient information to the healthcare team to improve care coordination.
Education

High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of experience in a patient care role is preferred.

Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential preferred; if uncertified or with less than one year of experience, completion of a PCA training academy is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment; training is provided.
  • Physical demands include lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, and various movements such as bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Work environment involves exposure to infectious diseases and occasional interaction with challenging individuals.
