Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Perimeter Rounds in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a dynamic technology location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. You will also provide exceptional customer service and clear communication. At Allied Universal, you will join an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first, works together, and acts with integrity.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.46 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the technology-focused location, including buildings, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter.
  • Monitor for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, and policy violations to help to deter incidents.
  • Document patrol activity and incidents, and promptly communicate relevant information to Allied Universal and designated site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
