Job Description Position Summary Base-2 Solutions is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to support the modernization of a critical government information system. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle database administration, specifically Oracle 19c, with proven experience in both on-premises and AWS RDS environments. The role includes database creation, schema design and implementation, performance tuning, and establishing robust backup and restore procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. The candidate will work closely with Java developers to optimize database interactions, support SAP Business Intelligence reporting requirements, and ensure seamless integration with Apache Solr indexing processes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues in production environments, and strong documentation skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Create and manage Oracle 19c databases in both on-premises and AWS RDS environments. * Design and implement database schemas to support application requirements. * Perform database performance tuning and optimization. * Execute patch management and version upgrades for Oracle databases. * Establish and maintain robust backup and restore procedures. * Implement Oracle database security hardening measures. * Ensure data integrity and availability across all environments. * Develop and test disaster recovery plans. * Optimize database interactions with Java application components. * Support SAP Business Intelligence reporting requirements and queries. * Ensure seamless integration with Apache Solr indexing processes. * Implement compliance controls for government systems (FISMA, FedRAMP, or similar). * Deploy and maintain database monitoring tools. * Troubleshoot complex database issues in production environments. * Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
