Kratos has an exciting opportunity for a Software/Product Developer for our Lanham, Maryland office who is responsible for performing software development for a satellite command and control software product as well as performing project engineering support.

Primary functions:

  • Develop robust real-time software for a 24/7 operation system
  • Perform maintenance and bug fixes on software product
  • Analyze customer requirements to identify unmet requirements
  • Design and develop COTS product enhancements as required
  • Interface with users of product and solve reported issues
  • Support of both internal and external users of satellite command and control product
  • Travel to customer locations for reviews, installation, testing of products (2-4 weeks per year total is nominal)

  • Experience coding in C++ and Java
  • Experience with multi-threaded or realtime applications
  • Experience developing in a Linux environment
  • Knowledge of at least one software development lifecycle model

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Experience coding Windows Services
  • Experience with a configuration management system such as Git or Subversion
  • Experience with COBRA or REST inter-process communication
  • Experience with development management or release management of a product
  • Experience with satellite command and control systems is a major plus, but not expected
