Per Diem Weekend Infusion Rn information

What is a Per Diem Weekend Infusion RN?

A Per Diem Weekend Infusion RN is a registered nurse who works on an as-needed basis, specifically during weekends, to administer intravenous (IV) infusions and medications to patients. These nurses often work in outpatient clinics, home health settings, or infusion centers, providing care for patients with chronic illnesses, infections, or those undergoing treatments like chemotherapy. 'Per diem' means they are not full-time staff but are scheduled based on the facility's needs, offering flexibility for both the nurse and employer. Their responsibilities include monitoring patients during infusions, managing IV lines, educating patients about their treatments, and ensuring safe medication administration.
