Job description

Bargaining Unit: EAP
Rate of Pay: $64.78/hour + DOE (Base Pay of $57.59 includes 12.5% per diem premium)
Summary
Performs all duties of the Staff Radiologic position with additional responsibilities for being competent in CAT scan, Special Procedures and Surgical Imaging Procedures. Under the general supervision of the Radiologist, conducts daily operations of the CAT scan and/or Special Procedures Department to include venipuncture for contrast injections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates x-ray equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs of designated anatomy according to established department exam protocols.
  • Transports patients as necessary.
  • Selects proper technical factors on individual basis according to established department guidelines.
  • Process digital images.
  • Provides radiation protection to self and patients.
  • Administers contrast media under general supervision of Radiologist, staff physician or Radiology Nurse.
  • Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures.
  • Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination.
  • Maintains adequate records.
  • Maintains order and cleanliness.
  • Secures and returns supplies.
  • Participates in departmental growth and development.
  • Participates and does assigned QA duties consistently.
  • Ability to work standby and variable shifts.
  • Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
  • Complies with System policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Certificate of completion from college or vocational school

Successful completion of a Radiologic Technologist Program (College or Institutional Program) approved by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The college program will grant a minimum of an Associateโ€™s Degree (A.S.) or Radiologic Technology program or equivalent.

1 - 2 years of relevant experience
Licenses, Certifications
California:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification in Radiography (ARRT) (R)
  • Upon hire
ARRT Computed Tomography (CT) certification
  • Within 6 months from date of hire
California Radiologic Technologist certification in radiography CRT (RHT)
  • Upon hire
California Radiologic Technologist-Fluoroscopy certification CRT (RHF)
  • Within 6 months from date of hire into the position. (Satisfies CRT (RHT) requirement)
Nevada Radiologic Technologist License (not limited license)
  • Within 3 months of hire into job.ย 
  • All staff required to have both CA and NV licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Certificate
  • Upon hire
Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS certification) -
  • Within three (3) months of hire.
