Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Maternal Fetal Medicine with 2+ years of experience in high-risk OB scanning and ARDMS OB/GYN certification.

Details
  • Outpatient Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic setting performing perinatal scanning for high-risk pregnancies
  • Average daily census of 50 patients across 8 rooms
  • Performs Level II detailed fetal anatomy scans, early anatomies, growth scans, BPP, dopplers, NT and TV scans
  • Patient population includes adolescents and adults with chronic HTN, GDM, growth restriction, and fetal abnormalities
  • Uses GE ultrasound equipment
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • No call, float, or weekend requirements
  • 13-week contract with potential for 40 hours per week
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required
  • ARDMS OB/GYN certification and BLS required
  • Experience in High Risk OB and Obstetrics work settings required
  • Skills required in Abdominal Aorta and Appendix ultrasound
  • 1st-3rd trimester OB/GYN scanning experience required, including amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, and placenta previa
  • Neonatal head and heart scanning skills required
  • Experience with MCA and UA dopplers, Viewpoint, and Fetal Echo required
  • Outpatient setting experience required
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Prior travel experience required, though first-time travelers with more than 2 years of experience will be considered
  • License required if applicable
  • Preferred skills include portables, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, spleen, amniocentesis, renal/pelvis studies, and small parts imaging (breast, thyroid, testicles/scrotum, superficial masses)
Additional Information
  • Perform detailed Level II fetal anatomy scans and high-risk obstetric ultrasound studies
  • Weekly orientation includes 40 hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Scrubs are royal blue and not provided
  • Pre-start modules (8-10 hours for acute care roles) must be completed prior to start and annually
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate
  • Travel pairs are permitted if on different units with own transportation
  • Former Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before reapplying and disclose prior employment details
  • Current travel or per diem clinicians at the facility must choose between their current status and a new travel contract
