Job Description Jackson County Employment Opportunity Joining a syringe exchange program presents an enriching opportunity to make a significant impact on public health by actively mitigating the transmission of blood-borne diseases like HIV and hepatitis among individuals utilizing injectable drugs. Jackson County strives to recruit, hire and retain the best employees. Pre-Employment Requirements and/or Preferences 15-20 hours per week. Desired qualifications for this role include a background in public health, harm reduction associated with injection drug use, HIV, and Hepatitis C.

Candidates with experience in trauma-informed care and an understanding of harm reduction strategies are highly valued. A Bachelor's degree in Public Health is preferred but not required for this position. Must pass a criminal background check prior to hire.

Job Duties and Requirements Example of Principle Duties and Position Functions: Working in the syringe exchange program clinic which includes interacting with clients to provide harm reduction strategies. Tracking and stocking syringe exchange program supplies.

Coordinating the syringe exchange program advisory committee. Enter syringe exchange data, produce reports and analyze data. Providing syringe exchange program education to syringe exchange clients and community partners.

Community presentations on the syringe exchange program and harm reduction strategies. Develop performance measures, and quality improvement projects. Position Requirements: Must be 18 years old.

Licenses, Certificates and Other Requirements: Valid Oregon State Drivers License with acceptable driving history.
