Per Diem Surgery Center RNs often face challenges such as adapting quickly to different teams, staying up-to-date with changing protocols, and managing variable shift schedules. What is a Per Diem Surgery Center RN?

A Per Diem Surgery Center RN is a registered nurse who works on an as-needed basis in a surgical center, rather than having a fixed full-time or part-time schedule. These nurses provide patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, filling in for staff shortages or covering busy periods. The 'per diem' status offers flexibility in scheduling but may not include benefits like health insurance or paid time off. They must be licensed RNs with experience in perioperative or ambulatory surgery settings, and be prepared to adapt quickly to different teams and procedures.
