Job description

Founded in 1976, Holy Cross Hospital - Davis has grown into a 220-bed hospital of choice for the flourishing communities of northern Utah. Over the years we have enhanced our care by offering a broad range of services, advanced medical technology, and a comfortable, convenient patient experience. To meet the needs of northern Utah's growing population, we opened a brand-new 16,000-square-foot healthcare facility in Roy, known as the Weber Campus. The Weber Campus, which is convenient for patients in Ogden, Roy, and other neighborhoods west of I-15, currently offers emergency care, radiology, mammography and 24/7 laboratory services. Located in the northern portion of the Wasatch Front and only minutes from Hill Air Force Base, you can enjoy quick access to Ogden, Salt Lake City, Antelope Island State Park, hiking, biking, and the beautiful outdoor activities that Utah is known for.


As our Certified Sterile Processing Tech, you will promote improved quality and patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department, performing routine tasks related to decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and supplies.
Every day you will operate and monitor sterilization equipment, maintain meticulous records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards. You will also maintain your certification, monitor/instruct/mentor non-certified staff, and actively facilitate the department's preparation for survey/regulatory assessments, contributing to a culture of patient safety.
To be successful in this role, you will be a Certified Sterile Processing Technician with meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of safety and compliance standards, and a commitment to ensuring quality and patient safety in the OR.

  • Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, and wraps or packages supplies and instruments using proper techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of how items to be sterilized should be packaged in a manner that promotes successful sterilization.
  • Understands the recommended practices for cleaning and care of surgical instruments and powered equipment and the device manufacturer's validated and written instructions for use.
  • Understands that devices labeled as singleuse should not be reprocessed unless the FDA guideline for reprocessing of singleuse devices can be met.
  • Sterilizes supplies and instruments using the prescribed method (e.g. steam, gas plasma (Sterrad).
  • Operates washer/decontaminator per department policy and procedure.

  • CRCST or CSPDT Certification

  • Six (6) months of experience
