Per Diem Occupational Therapist
Department: Therapy
Employment Type: Flexible
Location: Chelsea, MI
Compensation: $46.10 - $51.65 / hour
Description
$2,500 Sign-On Bonus (per diem; requires meeting minimum hours per agreement)
Schedule: Three (3) shifts per calendar month | Regularly covering weekend shifts is expected | Two (2) holidays per year.

What You'll Do in This Role:
Join a 5-Star retirement community on a beautiful 58-acre campus with a rich history of excellence in senior care and a truly supportive team culture. The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs to facilitate development and rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally disabled persons.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patients' physical and mental abilities, analyzing medical data to set realistic rehabilitation goals.
  • Track and document patients' progress, preparing detailed reports on improvements or areas requiring additional support.
  • Plan, organize, and implement occupational therapy programs tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Select and design activities to help patients develop work and life-management skills, considering their physical and mental capabilities.
  • Recommend environmental adjustments in patients' work or living spaces to improve independence and quality of life.
  • Develop and facilitate social programs to help patients learn or regain skills necessary for work, school, or daily living.
  • Prepare and organize therapeutic materials (e.g., puzzles, scissors, eating utensils) for use during therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and organizational policies.
  • Lead training sessions to educate patients and caregivers on occupational therapy techniques and objectives.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Graduate of an accredited Therapy program.
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current Occupational Therapy state license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Position requires the ability to lift and move objects, weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
