Job description

Physical Therapist - Per Diem - Inpatient Rehab
Physical therapists at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the autonomy to make individualized patient-centered decisions to promote optimal clinical care. This position works under the direct supervision of the Team Coordinator and/or Clinical Specialist, and leadership of the Rehab Therapy Services Team Leader and/or Inpatient or Outpatient Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Uses objective evaluation techniques to assess the physical limitations and medical condition of patients who have neuromusculoskeletal and/or cardiopulmonary disabilities
  • Prescribes and implements a treatment program that is designed to return patients to their maximum level of function
  • Rotates through assigned areas of department or may have the opportunity to focus on one service area
  • Collaborates with all members of the multidisciplinary health care team to maximize patient and team outcomes
  • Promotes improvement in service, department and hospital systems to benefit patient care
  • Incorporates and operationalizes the goals and objectives of the Hospital at the site of care

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's, Master's or doctoral degree in physical therapy
  • Currently licensed as a physical therapist in the State of Maryland
  • One year experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Proven clinical skills
  • Ability to transfer, position patients and lift up to 25 lbs.; able to perform physical assessments, walk and climb stairs
  • Must have reliable transportation to work site
  • CPR certification required

Salary Range: Minimum $55.00/hour - Maximum $55.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
