A Per Diem Security Camera Operator is a professional who monitors security cameras and surveillance systems on an as-needed, or 'per diem', basis. Unlike full-time staff, they are typically called in to work specific shifts or events, providing flexible coverage for organizations. Their main responsibilities include observing live video feeds, identifying and reporting suspicious activity, and ensuring the safety and security of people and property. Per diem operators may work in various settings, such as hospitals, schools, retail locations, or large venues. This role often requires attention to detail, quick decision-making, and effective communication skills.

These competencies ensure effective monitoring and rapid response to security incidents, helping maintain a safe environment.
