As a per diem Pharmacy Technician with Optum/ CPS Solutions at Pavillion Behavioral Health System, you'll assist in various pharmacy activities, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and other duties not requiring the review of a pharmacist.  The majority of tasks and responsibilities are related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications.  Other duties include maintaining patient records, and setting up, packaging, and labeling of medication doses and billing.  You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow through of tasks to ensure completion.

Schedule: This position is as needed but could be 4-8 hours per week. This position could transition to full time in the future. The pharmacy is open from 9am to 5pm.
About the facility: Located in a quiet, residential area of Champaign, Pavilion Behavioral Health offers care for Adult Psychiatric, Addiction Recovery, Youth Services, and Residential Treatment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Process prescription orders accurately, including entering patient and prescription data into pharmacy systems
  • Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency
  • Process medication orders from electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accuracy and urgency
  • Support medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery
  • Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulations

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • IL State Pharmacy Technician Licensure in good standing
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Able to obtain CPhT within a year of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registration/Certification (CPhT) as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Hospital experience
  • Recent experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy 
  • Effective communications skills; verbal and written

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
