Midwife Woman's Way is excited to expand our private growing practice! It is midwifery at its fullest and best capacity.

Midwife would be a per-diem staff member for Woman's Way to be delivered at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Midwives work independently with admission and management privileges. We have a collaboration agreement with the Attending Physician Hospitalist on duty when deemed necessary for consultation or need for any surgical intervention.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

CM/CNM will be responsible for only Woman's Way Medical patients which consist of generally low risk patients.

Hours: The call schedule would be flexible based on your availability and need. Typical coverage will be 12hr calls.

Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Licensure: Current license and registration as a Registered Professional Nurse (if CNM) and a Licensed Midwife (CNM/CM) in New York State with prescriptive privileges.

Education: Doctorate or Masters Degree in Midwifery from an accredited Midwifery Program.

Credentialed through the Credentialing Committee of the Medical Board with approved Delineation of Privileges. National certification with the American Midwifery Board Certification (AMCB) is required.

DEA certificate helpful but not a must.

First Assist Cesarean Certification is helpful for continuity of care.

Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, creative problem solving and excellent critical thinking and leadership; Previously demonstrated ability to facilitate group processes and work cohesively and collaboratively as member of the interdisciplinary team; Effective change agent; Membership in related professional specialty organizations desirable; Electronic Fetal Monitoring Credentialing as applicable, NRP certification is mandatory but may be provided at Montefiore Nyack Hospital as applicable, Basic Life Support certification; Department Drills/Skills participation; Infection Control Certification every 4 years.

Must have at least 3 years of midwifery experience. Per-diem rate is negotiable and based on clinical experience.

Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS (if CNM), Midwifery Certification-NYS Preferred Qualifications: Membership in pertinent professional organizations preferred. Spanish speaking fluency is highly preferred.
