Job description

We are seeking Per Diem Research Technicians for our growing organization! In this role, you will maintain and manage instrumentation and day-to-day lab operations. Prepare laboratory equipment and work with samples, cultures, and/or cell separation methods; basic biology or other niche science techniques, depending on the lab. Operate lab equipment such as centrifuges, pH meters, analytical balancers, scintillation counters, etc. Assist in collection of tissues and fluids. Prepare culture media, chemicals, reagents and solutions. Conduct basic hematology testing and prep slides for cell counting and staining. Conduct procedures required to process, cryopreserve, thaw, and QC peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and other purified cell products. Perform daily, weekly, monthly and annual QC on all equipment as required by laboratory SOPs. Handle inventory and prepare cellular products and affiliated documentation for shipment to client. Assist in the development and validation of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
Skills & Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree in life sciences. Experience with basic biological and clinical laboratory techniques is required. Experience in biomedical research laboratory environment preferred. Individual must be able to work independently and have strong work ethic. Must be flexible in work schedule. Must be available to occasionally come to the laboratory on a weekend day for a few hours or stay late in evenings for a given experiment. Acute attention to detail. Required computer and organizational skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. These are per diem positions, based primarily in our Fair Lawn, NJ office. Day and overnight availability. May be asked to work occasional weekends.
