Job description

Per Diem Registered Nurse

Willow Springs Center is looking for compassionate, caring and dedicated per diem registered nurses for our residential treatment facility. Located in the heart of the Sierras, Reno, Nevada provides a destination location where employees can live, work and play. The location itself is a benefit; not to mention Nevada has no state income tax. Working at Willow Springs Center means building a career that is dynamic and satisfying; having the opportunity to work and learn from some of Nevada's leading mental health professionals; and being a part of something meaningful that changes the world, one child at a time. Work at Willow Springs Center is a life path.

At Willow Springs Center, we seek high performing, compassionate professionals dedicated to impacting the lives of youth ages 6 to 17 years of age. If you desire to make a difference through the work that you do, Willow Springs Center is the place for you. Our nurses provide professional nursing care to youth in the residential treatment setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. In doing so, they identify patient health care needs utilizing physical and behavioral professional nursing assessment skills and make comprehensive clinical observations and evaluations of health needs including subtle abnormalities and changes in condition. Nurses at Willow Springs Center develop nursing care plans by assessing patient's psychological and physical condition and create plans for treatment, services and health education based on the present and predicted needs of the patient. Our nurses participate in multi-disciplinary treatment teams and collaborate with professional and para-professional staff to ensure optimum care for our special patients. Nurses administer medications as prescribed by a physician or designee and ensure correct time, dosage and appropriate route of administration while monitoring patients for medication side effects and/or allergic reaction. They observe patients to determine if medication is effective for prescribed treatment and appropriately documents findings. Our nurses do what is necessary to maintain the safety, health and well-being of the children we serve in the therapeutic environment and make crucial decisions to restrain patients who are a threat to themselves or others and may be hostile and combative.
