Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU

FSN is actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated critical care team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide specialized care to patients with complex neurological conditions, contributing to their recovery and improved outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients with neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, seizures, and post-operative neurosurgical patients.
  • Conduct detailed neurological assessments, monitor patient status, and identify changes promptly to ensure timely interventions.
  • Interpret and respond to hemodynamic, neurological, and cardiac monitoring data with precision.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and critical care interventions following established protocols and best practices.
  • Manage patients on ventilators, ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVDs), and other advanced neurocritical therapies.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, recovery expectations, and discharge preparations.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation to support quality care and compliance standards.
  • Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice projects, and ongoing education to stay current with advancements in neurocritical care.
  • Respond efficiently during emergencies, providing life-saving interventions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher nursing degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Neuro ICU, ICU, or Critical Care nursing.
  • Valid Compact RN license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills.
