About the Role
The Per Diem Fertility Procedure Nurse plays a vital role in supporting patients through their fertility journey by delivering exceptional care in the surgical suite. This position is ideal for compassionate, detail-oriented individuals who excel in fast-paced environments and want to make a meaningful difference. As a Per Diem Fertility Procedure Nurse, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative care while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
We are seeking a Per Diem Fertility Procedure Nurse to join our dedicated team at Pinnacle Fertility - Michigan in Grand Rapids. This is a per diem on-site position offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a patient's life-changing journey.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for procedures, perform preoperative assessment, give discharge instructions, and start IV.
  • Recover patients after general anesthesia and monitored anesthesia care. Reinforce discharge instructions.
  • Deliver direct patient care during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases in the surgical suite.
  • Accurately document patient care and procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Clearly communicate post-operative instructions to patients and families.
  • Oversee surgical suite operations, ensuring cleanliness, sterility, and equipment functionality.
  • Adhere to and enforce aseptic techniques, quality control measures, and safety standards.
  • Initiate emergency protocols as needed and coordinate equipment repairs.
  • Mentor new staff and provide updates on any protocol changes.
  • Support organizational policies and contribute to process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Surgery Manager to assess equipment and supply needs.
  • Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the surgical team.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • Education & Licensure:
    • Completion of either accredited Practical Nursing program or an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
    • Active LPN license issued by the Michigan Board of Nursing or Active RN license issued by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Experience:
    • Open to new graduate RN applicants
    • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience as an RN (preferred)
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
    • Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly Rate: $31.00-$40.00 per hour (final offers based on experience, skills, and qualifications).
