Per Diem Registered Nurse

Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking Per Diem Registered Nurses for the Nursing Department. If you're passionate about working in the behavioral health setting and have the desire to join a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to serving our patients, we want to hear from you! The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Cross-functional training may be required to learn skills that will allow the license to work seamlessly throughout the facility. Shifts: AM, PM, NOC

Per Diem Requirements

  • At least 6 months experience in a psychiatric health-care facility.
  • 6 shifts per month
  • 4 Weekend days per month
  • 2 hospital-defined holiday's must be worked each year

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Associates Degrees accepted, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 6 months experience in a psychiatric health-care facility.
  • Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
  • CPR certification, and successful completion of the hospital's designated behavioral and physical management training program including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint required prior to assisting in the procedures.
