Job Description

As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our customer's clinical team to resolve venous access issues to facilitate the treatment objectives of the treating physician. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting depending on each individual referral, providing you with a unique career opportunity to observe different treatment protocols and patient challenges. If you are looking for a change and tired of 12 hours on your feet or rushing from patient to patient with no time to provide quality care, this would be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is a Per Diem position, with a minimum requirement of only 4 scheduled shifts per month. 

As a VTP Vascular Access Nurse Consultant you will:

  • Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation.
  • Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices.
  • Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc.
  • Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVAD's

Scheduling

In this role, Consultants travel to various customer facilities and must be willing to meet the scheduling needs of the business. Per Diem Consultants are expected to work a minimum of four (4) scheduled shifts per month, including weekend availability and participation in the holiday rotation. Typical shifts are approximately 8 hours, with a preference for candidates available to work evening shifts ending between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs
  • Ability to work independently and fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
  • Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Must LOVE vascular access!
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care
  • Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound
